Tom K. said: That is by design. For some reason, BMW decided that if AUTO is overridden, heat would only be available through the dash vents when the temp is set to 84o. If you use the AUTO setting, however, most of the heat will come from the floor vents (as it should), depending on the temp setting (s). I found this rather annoying on my 128i
If you can't see the barb because it is a solid plug, you could try using a pin from the open end (not the wire end) and push it down between the connector pin and the plastic hole which it is in and try to push the barb down, whilst gently pulling the wire back out at the same time. 2009 E70 Front Heater Not Working - Need Help. (2009 BMW X5 35D.) The front blower for both heat and AC is not working at all. It slowly had gotten worse with blowing then quit altogether. My 2007 335i heater / AC fan started squeaking loudly 2 days ago. Was driving me nuts! "Heat Soak" is the first suspect to cause what you describe. That is a situation where engine heat (transfer of heat from hot block to fuel rail after hot shutdown) boils or vaporizes fuel in the fuel rail, forming vapor pockets in the rail which prevent proper, uniform, injector function upon restart attempted ~ 3 to 20 minutes after hot shutdown.
